Cardrona River

Had two close friends here for lunch today. My hens eggs and newly made bread. Yum. Then a short walk to Pawson's bridge. ( standing on bridge for photo) Plenty of shade but too hot to walk far in the heat. A swim at our " hole" or "Eddy" in the Clutha River was the perfect follow up.

The Cardrona River seems pretty low as this is just before it discharges into the Clutha.
Did you know that once this river flowed the other way ( thousands of years ago) and as the Crown Range was up lifted the flow reversed. They tell this all from a small bully type fish called a Galaxide.

There are bike trails on both sides of the river
