A Birthday

Today is my eldest's 38th birthday and I am privileged to be able to be with her and her family for the second year in a row. No big deal, except for us, because we are separated by about 6000 miles of sea water at the best of times.

Early this morning she was woken with a cup of steaming hot coffee and the children presenting their gifts.

Later on a beautiful bouquet of roses was received from a good friend and her husband.

Not a very 'happy and joyous' occasion this year, as she is caught up in study work for an important accreditation exam on the 5th. Surely looking forward to getting all of this behind her, there will hopefully be another occasion for celebration!
