Napping Snipe
Given the weather recently and the forecast of what is to come I grabbed the opportunity to get out to Minsmere again today. yesterday would have been better as it was less windy but the sunshine was still glorious.
To be honest there wasn't an awful lot about although there was lots of birdsong in the woodland. Several Marsh Harrier were to be seen quartering the reedbeds and, as I entered the Island Mere Hide, a Bittern took off and flew across in front of the hide. It took a while to notice that a couple of Snipe were hunkered down amongst the cut reeds. What superb camouflage!
