Market day in Besançon. I have great memories of exploring the market here as a child. There used to be stalls stacked with cages containing all sorts of birds and animals - puppies, rabbits, kittens, hens, ducklings. I would be simultaneously enthralled and heart broken. If I was lucky, I got a piece of baguette with some chocolate pushed into the middle to eat as I wandered.
On the way back to the Gîte I visited Daniel's grave. I had a little weep. I still miss him.
We had a barbeque in the evening. It was delicious and we stayed outside chatting and laughing around the table until way after the sun had gone down.
