Goodbye
Said goodbye to Mum yesterday.
It was serene, peaceful, with a few of her friends and most of her relatives.
It's been a hard few days for us all. So much to organise under such painful circumstances. We have to feel it is all for the best. She is in a better place now without suffering and pain. I don't think it has really all hit me yet. I'm still in practical mode as there has been and still is so much to do.
Thank you for all the kind words over the last few days from my blip companions. They have meant a lot to me.
After the wake after everyone had gone, in a complete change of scene, with my close friends Shev and Ker, I went through to Glasgow to the new Hydro to watch the Strictly Come Dancing tour (tickets were a Christmas pressie from my bruv and sister-in-law and just happened to be for last night).
Felt a bit guilty as if I shouldn't be enjoying myself at a time like this but it was such a happy, cheery, cheesy, uplifting experience that i'm sure everyone would have understood.
A day of extremes and emotions and one I am glad is now over.
In a contrast, today was a lazy one. I was totally exhausted. Probably in part because of not getting home until after 2am this morning and maybe the stress of the last few weeks has taken its toll.
OH and I went up to look at the Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors which was something i'd been meaning to do for the last week.
What an amazing sight!
