Tripping the light fantastic

I might as well get this blipped and out the way. There will be countless versions of it coming to a screen near you shortly. Do it and move on.

It's Bruce Munro's Field of Light and it has been created specifically for St Andrew Square and it comprises 9,000 lighted, frosted spheres sitting on slender stems. This is the first time the installation has been seen in Scotland. It's first appearance was in 2004 at Munro's home in Wiltshire and it has subsequently been re-imagined each time it has been exhibited , shaped by the contours and space it is exhibited in.

This is only a small section of the exhibit and it reminds me of images of neural pathways in the brain. Not that I'm an expert in any of it.

It's well worth a trip though.
