School Cake Competition 1

As part of our schools festive activities last christmas, there was a fundraising cake baking competition. For this, I asked if I could take photos as part of my photography coursework. This would be my first experience at food photography.

From research, I discovered that high contrast images with plain backgrounds give the best positive result. Using multiple A3 sheets of card, I created a curved backdrop against the window. Next, I set my camera to a low f number and higher ISO to gain that brighter saturation.

I edited the final picture using Gimp, where all I did was adjust the levels and sharpess.
