Mystery solved

Finally... broke the mystery of my Great Grandfather. Just couldn't find a record of his birth... until I noticed that his age on his death certificate was several years different to the age given on the 1901 & 1891 census records.

He was illiterate but maybe couldn't count either!!

Once I discovered this error I found his birth registration. Ordered his birth certificate today. When that comes it will reveal the names of my Great-great-grandparents.
