50% chance of X class flare today.

Sunspot group AR1967 is predicted to have a 50% chance of X class flares today. As it is Earth facing any such flare would likely have a strong possibility of producing aurora lower than the polar regions.

I stuck Earth on for an idea of scale. (I didn't actually take the photo of the Earth - just to clear that up)
