Squirrel at the Water Hole
We are in a cold snap. The water in the bird bath is frozen. The hummingbird feeders are frozen. Still the squirrel is able to get a bit of water from the edge of the bird bath as it thaws. There were lots of birds today. I still attacked squirted the seagulls with my trusty squirt gun.
Today was another day in the car. I dropped Helena off at her weekly appointment and then went home for half an hour until it was time for Arvin's PT session with Margot. As usual, she helped him with his shoulder pain. Then we went to pick up Helena.
We headed downtown so I could drop off a painting at Allied Arts. They are showing the paintings that were in the Nature in the Balance show at the Whatcom Museum last year as a lead in to their Vanishing Ice show. This Friday will be the Art Walk in Bellingham that happens the first Friday of every month. The Allied Arts show will open that evening with a reception from 6 to 9. I'll be there greeting folks along with many of the other artists whose work will be in the show. If you are in Bellingham, please do come on by. Allied Arts is on Cornwall Avenue.
After that we walked to Chocolate Necessities which is close to the Allied Arts gallery. Arvin and I had their 4 ounce hot chocolate with a shot of espresso and whipped cream on top. Omigosh was that delicious. Helena opted for a decaf latte. It was so good she didn't even add sweetener. Mmmm.
Finally we headed to Fourth Corner Frames to pick up the painting that our good friend DJ Cleland-Hura gave us for Christmas. It is a beautiful little oil painting of a raven with an impressionistic wooded setting with warm light behind the bird. Lovely. Sherri did a fantastic job of framing the piece and now it is hanging in our dining room with the other painting we have of DJ's.
Arvin and Helena are resting now and I'm catching up on my blipping. Have a great Tuesday/Wednesday everybody.
