House of Commons

My first trip to the House of the Commons. Was there for work purposes (launch of report on economic benefits of CCS to the UK).

Was told to factor in 15 mins for going through security... Mistake. I got there at 10.40.. Meeting was at 11am. My colleague was in the queue at 10.20. She got in at 11.15. I got in at 11.25 and that was only because the MP running our meeting came out to the queue and got everyone that was stuck in it that was going to the same meeting fat tracked. Great for us. Everyone else wasn't so pleased.

They really need a system which separates the tour and tourist crowds from people who have to go there for work.

Then again, there's nothing like being reminded you're late by Big Ben.
