Big waves on the North Shore

We drove up to the North Shore of Oahu today to see the big waves. Yesterday they were 40 ft waves, the biggest in ten years, but the roads were closed due to the weather. Today they're only 30 ft. Had a hard time choosing a favorite.
After watching the waves and surfers we drove down the east shore for some fresh shrimp at the shrimp shacks. I had garlic shrimp and the guys had spicy garlic shrimp that came with a very hot pepper. Bruce took one teeny bite and that was enough for him. Monte took two and regretted it. Still in effect the following morning. We bought three lbs of shrimp for dinner tomorrow.
Tonight we had reservations at the Naupaka Terrace at the Ihilani. Barb and I had a great time watching the NFL players, their wives, girlfriends, parents, and children walking back and forth to the luau they were having on the beach. We were seated by the shark pool so had a great view. Barb and I had the seafood platter-lobster, king crab, scallops, mussels, clams and oysters. To finish it off, the four of us shared a chocolate macadamia nut pie. Yum, yum, yummy. Monte and Bruce had the long tailed red snapper which was also delish!
