Homecoming
Whisper with the air,
And sleep while the ceaseless sea,
Sings a lullaby.
It would have been my Dad's 93rd birthday today. He was born and bred and Hastings, so we went there today, to remember, and to scatter some of his ashes in the sea.
I was sort of dreading doing it, and saying goodbye, but actually I found it quite soothing somehow. It felt right to take him back home.
The sun shone, the gulls hovered and the sea was in full swell .... a fitting moment in time.
