How long does it take three people to design an arbor? Two pages worth of time in Landscape Architecture language.

The common trend in the professional field of Landscape Architecture is contemporary (modern) design with ties to rustic materials (preferably recycled materials) and sustainable practices.

It is a delicate process to create a sleek, elegant design while remaining innovative in the eyes of other professionals and the public. To add more confusion to the task, the design is expected to follow the surrounding context.

Nevertheless, we took elements from precedent images and the overhang supports found along our departmental buildings and the nearby Forestry building. It is elegant with just two core pieces. It is innovative and educational because of its adjustable pulley system. It is interactive to the public as they gauge the impact of various sun angles in correspondence with the angle of the arbor's overhead (adjusted by said pulley system). Another alternative is using the pulley system in conjunction with seating to have the appearance of a "mechanical wave" as people sit at various sections of the arbor.

Overall, It can use refinement with its transition into the stairway leading up to it.
