A Change in the Weather....

The wind began to blow late this morning and by lunchtime it was positively cold, with the temperature dropping to 22 degrees C in my kitchen. And here it is, the middle of summer!

Then the rains came, actually, it threw it down. All of the birds disappeared, while the winds howled and the rain pelted down, and I rushed around the house from room to room, closing all the windows and doors.

After about an hour of this weather I heard baby magpie singing in the front garden and being in need of a blip for today I went out onto the front veranda, armed with my camera.

Apart from seeing the baby magpie walking around the grass, sopping wet and singing at the top of its voice (a rain song perhaps?) I also saw a Noisy Miner in search of some nectar, performing somersaults in the branches of the tree. He was only there for a few moments, just long enough for me to get a good shot of his drenched back feathers!
