Tree stump carving

This has neither name nor attribution that I could find.
Intriguing face, either somewhat battered and distorted by misfortune, or the sculptor was having a bad day, or it was fashioned by some youth on a government-funded job creation programme.
Hope it is not damning with faint praise to say that I find it interesting, and am intrigued to discover what is being presented and by whom.
