Barber-shop

Went to my barbers while my wife was having her hair done nearby. But my hairdresser (corner shop) was closed. The other barber who set up in competition next door was also closed. So no hair cut!

My barber has been cutting my hair for over 40 years and his business has always been busy. He is closed because he is sick. The rival newcomer did not succeed in capturing much/any trade and so (I think) has gone out of business. And (if I have the story right) the final twist in the tail is that my barber has bought up the rival business, which is smaller and more recently furnished: it was clear that he had dressed the window.
