Not the blip I intended............
I have been in the workshop again today, but after I had swept and tided up, I walked up the garden to the house, and on the way, I saw the Euphorbia plant was showing some new growth, so took several shots close up, but as we are experiencing high winds I did not get one in sharp focus, damn it! It is a bit time consuming waiting for a lull in the wind to take a sharp shot especially in high wind!!! Oh well, I will try again tomorrow.
So you have another installment of the bases of my lamps I am making.
As you can see I have turned out the countersink on the other base and am now sanding them.
The one on the left I am sanding with a 120 grit sand paper (brown) which I use to take out the rough and smooth it down so I can then move on to the next stage of sanding. The one on the right, I am about to sand with the (Grey) which is a 240 grit which really smooths the surface.
After I have done both bases with this 240 grit I will do a final sand with a 400 grit which will give the wood a really silky feel to it.
When I am satisfied with that, I will then apply sealant and polish.
I am sorry it is another blip on my woodwork, but I was to ashamed to post a blurred shot of the Euphorbia plant. May be tomorrow, providing the wind has dropped.!!
Keeping your interest alive on my project....
Take care.
