A slice of lime

Busy day, by the time I was free the rain and wind had set in and the light gone. We did have a sunny start to the day I must admit but did not take the opportunity. I have a spare D300 equipped with a macro 105 lens kept indoors. The problem is the narrow dof which has always caused me problems.

I thought, tonight is the night to have another go at using it, I shall try to use it on a slice of lime on a black background. The background is the outside of the lid of empty box for A3 paper, quite handy really, got lots of them and a tweak in levels made it jet black with no texture. Then do I leave it in colour - a normal sort of lime green or try it in black and white?

I shall be glad of hints from those of you more expert than I.
