Trout in the Classroom
We've been documenting for The Ribble Rivers Trust, who are working in 6 schools in Burnley, teaching the children there about rivers and wildlife - and they each have a fish tank with tiny fish in! The children and teachers have been caring for the fish from being eggs, and will release them into the wild around Easter when they have developed more. The fish are apparently currently Alevins (the class of 10 and 11 year olds knew more about the stages than I did!)
At this session, a musician and artist worked with one of the classes, to develop music and art themed around fish and rivers. It was a fantastically creative (and noisy) afternoon and I'm looking forward to the next one.
