Tube strike

Saw this Routemaster (that is what it called itself, though am reliably informed it is actually a Regent, the predecessor to the Routemaster) on special service this morning to manage with the tube strike. Personally, I wasn't too put out by the strike: added a longer walk in to my commute which was good for me and got the tube from Aldgate with no hassle. I have been told off by friends on Facebook for being a bit too smug about this.

Part of what I like about this picture is how stereotypically London it is: even if the stereotypical bus is no longer in normal service, and the stereotypical phone box no longer has a phone inside!
