Technique Challenge 5. Low Key Image
DDW's February 2014 Alphabet Challenge - E is for Exposed
I'd imagined this shot for a while and decided to give it a go for Low Key (sorry about the repeated showing of panties!!) - it was difficult and frustrating and not quite like it was in my head. I will be doing something similar with a model soon! My technique was a dark room, a tripod and a torch. In low key shots, I find it important to have a high enough shutter speed so your light doesn't go fuzzy as well as a low ISO in order to avoid graininess. SPs are painful without a flip-out screen and a remote control, but still quite enjoyable.
Today is not a very good day of the year for me, it's the sad anniversary of a big loss I suffered, and a very tearful time usually. I went out shopping in Stromness today with a cheeky GT afterwards, and I am not feeling too sad at all now. Had to make some phonecalls to family, showing that I am here and thinking about it and sharing some fun memories. The phone calls on the 5th of February become more light hearted every year, as sadness turns into good memories of a person who went far, far too soon.
