Windfalls

We haven't needed the candles (yet), though the wind's still blowing wildly. The road to Dartmouth was closed all morning as an uprooted tree blocked the road. It must have been a sizeable tree for its disposal to take so long.

When we were in Madeira last month we had one day of gales (though warmer winds than here) that brought showers of seeds and cones off the trees. These two (each about an inch long) must have somehow blown into my pocket (!) ... such fascinating shapes!
