The Philosopher's Wife

Faithful Departed

We attended church this afternoon for All Souls' Day - the first part of the service takes place outside in the cemetery (that's the church in the background). I love the expressions of the two guys on the right.

It was kind of a sad day, but I had to smile a little as we were leaving through the tourist section of the street and heard three boys behind me discussing whether they wanted to be a wheelwright, joiner, brickmaker, or blacksmith. Apparently they've been absorbing all of that 18th century American history floating around.
