a good idea - poor execution

OK this is not as easy as I thought it would be - baking tray with a bin bag running along its bottom and spread out over the local area filled with water to near the top lip, blue sheet of paper set up at the far end of the baking tray to reflect colour onto the water area and hide the black bin bag look, dog poo bag (clean haha) filled with water hanging off the bottom of a tripod (but anything you can hang it from will do), light source coming in from rear side of camera point, camera set up fairly low on another tripod in manual aperture mode, continuous release and remote trigger plugged in, pin prick bottom of bag, as the water runs into the tray have a ruler (black plastic is easier to see) set upright in the water where it makes contact with the water in the tray, focus on the ruler markings where the water hits the surface (helps if someone else is there to hold the ruler and you remember to put the lens in manual once focused), as the water in the bag gets less the water stream slows and drops fall, as the drop leaves the bag hit the remote and take a load of shots and hopefully catch drops hitting the water or even better at the point the drop rebounds off the surface back in the air. My timings rubbish but I've got the idea now I need to practise over the weekend to get the shot I want - it might help if you select micro on your controls to be able to get in close enough depending on your lens.
Anywheys the classic term "must do better" comes to mind and watch out for running water everywhere as the tray gets full Doh!!!!!!!
