Making a Run for It

The beach front was a good place to visit just as the tide turned this morning. We had a rather noisy night in that there was a bit if a storm somewhere and that roughed up the sea somewhat. Once everyone has gone to bed the camp is usually a very quiet place. Not so last night. When I got up during the night I could hear waves breaking on the main beach… an unusual noise. The sea out at the main beach usually laps gently at the shore.
So there was some excitement for folk who were boarding the big water taxis, catamarans. Once again the vessels had pulled up to the shore just around the southern point on the beach. The sea was pounding in and folk either had the choice of running across the wet sands between waves or else scrambling over some low rocks in order to get to the vessel. There was a ramp to the shore from the bow of the vessel. This enables folk to board safely and keeps their feet dry. Unless they misjudge the waves and get wet feet as these two young men did when they were making a run for it.
I must say I was vastly entertained watching the antics of people trying to keep their shoes dry. It was hilarious at times but some did not share my sense of humour!
