Bits and Bobs!

Hello Edinburgh!

"Byre's Close - Dating from the early sixteenth century and originally known as Malcolme's Close and Lauder's Close, this close takes its name from John Byres, a wealthy merchant who lived between 1569 and 1629." www.royal-mile.com

Arrived in Edinburgh on a beautiful crisp, sunny day! Yes, sunny!!!

Couldn't have wished for a better location for my apartment, opposite St Giles Cathedral and the old Scottish Parliament House, on the city's historic Royal Mile. Reception was located down one of the many steep, medieval alleyways found in the Old Town - an interesting challenge when you're travelling with a heavy suitcase! But what a wonderful view every time you opened the front door!!

An afternoon spent exploring Edinburgh Castle (hadn't realised that the One o'clock Gun went off every day except for Sunday!), and then an evening concert in the wonderful atmosphere of St Giles Cathedral.
