Sunrise over the farmer's field
Just a few steps off my back patio, beyond the tree line that's filled with poison ivy in the warmer months, the farmer's field spreads out in all directions. In the spring, summer and fall, corn and soybeans grow here, alternating years so as to keep the soil fresh and rich. Corn gets a turn this spring, if memory serves.
Right now, however, winter's harvest yields snow and ice, brought in and tossed throughout the field by bitter gusts of unforgiving wind. But even in these frigid moments, God's creativity splashes across the sky and lights up the farmer's frozen field, proving once again that beauty cares little about seasons, nor is it restrained by our limiting preconceptions.
Beauty knows no bounds and is free to breathe, to exist, to thrive, anywhere and in any moment. And we get to reap the rewards.
