Tuk Tuk @ Tampopo...
It is an ambition of mine to ride in a Tuk Tuk. These little cars are the vehicle of choice in many of the chaotic cities of the developing world. They get their name from the noise their engines make. We saw them in the smaller towns of Egypt where they can get to places bigger cars can't, but there were none that we could find in the cities like Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. I believe you can ride in them in Brighton but the dead hand of the Health & Safety Brigade insists on things like seat belts in the UK. But part of the fun of riding in a Tuk Tuk is that you are taking your life in your hands. This beautiful example has left the chaotic streets of Bankok, Jakarta, Mumbai .... behind it and is in retirement outside noodle restaurant, TAMPOPO, in the food court of the Trafford Centre, Manchester's huge out of town retail palace/cathedral to consumerism...
