Damp bonfire tactics

V making suggestions on how to get the fire going. Trying to burn some of the rubbish we have cleared in the last few weeks on our conservation volunteering. Everything was too wet, and the fire was more fun than useful. All went home smelling of woodsmoke! The rain kept off until time to go home, exactly as predicted by the forecast
Next week we are hedge laying - looking forward to that.
