Burn baby burn

Another long day at work - so today's blip is of an experiment I did today with a year 10 class - the reduction of copper oxide. We did this to calculte the empirical formula of copper oxide. The brown solid in the tube is the copper made.
I guess by now half of you have fallen asleep - sorry!
