White Heather???

Woke up this morning to beautiful sunshine so we dashed out for a walk before it disappeared. By the time we got up onto the Cats Back the clouds were gathering. But we stayed in the sunshine for long enough to have a good walk.

There was a large patch of what looked like white heather flowering in the sunshine, when I went over to have a closer look I realised that it was dense lichen growing over the top of the heather. An amazing sight.
