Visitor from Sweden

We had a visitor from Sweden at work today. She is conducting research on how the introduction of digital technologies (laptops, Tablets, interactive whiteboards, mobile phones and Apps) in schools is influencing learning and teaching practices. She works in Umeå, a university town in North Sweden and 600 km north of Stockholm. In the introduction of her talk, she informed us that Umeå is called the City of Birch as there are over 3000 birch trees there. Umeå is also the European Capital of Culture 2014.
