We all like to think that our government takes decisions based on a consideration of the wide range of evidence before them... we like to thing that they at least consider the advice given to them by experts... but what is the point in expert advice if it is simply a re-iteration of government policy? Is expert advice of any value where academic conclusions are necessarily modified to suit political needs?

... and so the relationship between the scientific community and the home secretary continues to deteriorate...

On another note...

Took this image in mono using the on-board green filter. Was transferred into View NX where it appeared in B/W. However, when I processed it in PSE it had lost the mono data and came up as a colour file. Anybody know if this is just something I'll have to put up with - or if there's any way of getting the full range of camera data onto photoshop for editing? (I was shooting in RAW). Ta!
