Fish Eyed Tarpaulin
As promised a picture from the foremast. I regretted it because the vessel was rolling quite considerable this morning, but a promise is a promise. The effect of the 10.5 mm fisheye is surprising me again and again; I did not know it was that much fun to use it. What you see on this picture is that it is hot outside. You can see it because we rigged up the tarpaulin or canvas spread above the cool and freezer compressor deck below. Before, we had no tarpaulin and also the deck was painted green as you can see more to the bow. In the tropics the heat in the afternoon can be so intense that the temperature became a problem for the air-cooled compressors below the green deck. We painted this deck grey, which was an improvement, but one of my colleagues also came up with the idea to order an old fashioned canvas spread. All this means quite a difference, although it can be pretty warm down below. That one of the compressors was converted to a water cooled system was also of a great help.
