G is for Grass tree..

and gum trees and I had a tough choice between the two...but in the end the iconic and truly Australian Grass Tree won. I love these tough little trees. Growing up in the south west of Western Australia these little trees were everywhere..we used to call them blackboys, but now they are known by the politically correct term of Grass Tree. They withstand fire very well and in fact do extremely well afterwards. They will come back very green after the next winter rains.
