Fyfield Down, toward Milton Hill Clump.
Title amended after consultation with a decent map, not the one I had yesterday!
After night-time forays around flooded rivers of late, I was so hankering for a hill with a view, today.
So, got on first bus out to Pewsey, between Salisbury and Swindon. Part of a series of ridges and 'Downs', clambered up Pewsey Hill, here, looking along the ridge to the distinctive clump in the distance.
Weather cleared, sun came out but sky and conditions always interesting. "Refreshing" was how you could describe the cold and the wind!!
About 10 to 12 miles walk total, over to Milton Lilbourne, popped into their lovely church and then tried to walk back to Pewsey without touching the main road. Difficult, then flooded. My excellent North Face hiking boots kept me upright and dry - but only just - I don't think I've ever asked so much from them in one day!
SO many wonderful views and pics to choose from; in the end, rather than anything arty or black and white or incredibly dramatic, but indecipherable, went for a good classic landscape. Essential to go LARGE!!
Polariser on the Nikkor 10-24mm.
Huge thanks to ALL, again, for getting my Golden Ditch right up to the top of the Spotlights yesterday! It stayed there for absolute ages!
Need some rest now, will get back to you lovely lot later and with some much needed catch-up with some of your Journals!
