Early flowering
I saw the first flowers opening on Stinking Hellebore, Helleborus foetidus, at the nature reserve today. Nearby there was Spurge-laurel and Dog's Mercury in flower, both rather dull green flowers, and also some clumps of bright, fresh Primroses. In the woods there were plenty of birds in full song and in my garden Collared Doves were mating. There must be a cold spell soon!
