Depth of Field
Inspired by trying to explain DoF ('Depth of Field') to someone I set about making a shot to demonstrate the principle using subject matter inspired by david:seventyseven.
The aperture of these shots decreases from f4.5 (at the left of the shot) to f36 (at the right of the shot) whereas the 'Depth of Field' increases from left to right such that more of the Lego people are in focus.
To try and use this principle more in the field I use an application for the iPhone called 'Simple DoF' which helps you estimate the depth of field for any given combination of aperture, focal length, camera and focus distance.
A bit of a 'geeky' blip but it kept me occupied on a wet evening!
