Oh!! The Irony

Visited a Mum and baby today who lives above a cake shop that's owned by her husband. Family does not speak English, so lots of miss-understanding, comical gestures and laughing, as I examined them both.
With my gum still sore from the dentist and full of guilt about my condition, I get this beautiful cake pressed into my hands when I was leaving.
Tried to say no but both parents looked crest fallen and gestured it was to celebrate the birth of their first child. I couldn't insult them, so took it.
Shared it with my colleagues and co-workers at the Children Centre, thus avoiding the calories and sugar on my teeth.
