Amethyst

A day of calls, emails and Skyping back and forwards to #2 Daughter in Edinburgh. At the weekend we will see her new flat, taking with us a house flat-warming present. It's a 60cm high amethyst cathedral. A geode cut in half longways with a rounded top and filled with purple crystals. It's travelled all the way from Brazil and will be on a much shorter journey on Saturday.

It will stand in an unused fireplace and I hope it will please everyone who sees it. And there will be a lot of folk visiting that flat, she gives great dinner parties for her friends.
