It feels like Spring
At last a calm day with a bit of warmth in the air. Plenty of blue sky and you can almost hear the trees breathing a sigh of relief and think about growing. It probably won't last but we made the most of it today.
Firstly up to Lochmaddy for an early morning coffee - about 11ish in fact - and then on to Cheese Bay. "This will be a good spot for otters" I said and within half an hour there was one. Second in two days after none for months, albeit in the far distance.
On then to Vallay Strand to look at some archaeological stuff - huge variety of wheelhouses, chambered cairns and deserted villages. Slowly knowing a bit more makes it more understandable with the various periods involved and all the more interesting as a consequence.
Best of the lot, still light enough at 5pm when this photo was taken to be walking around outside. For those who know the distinctive shape of Toe Head on Harris is obvious in this image.
