Gold Medal

Having thoroughly enjoyed the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics from Sochi this afternoon, I thought I would share with you my own winter sports achievement. This is a medal that I was awarded in 1988 for a) turning up at the beginners ski school at Soldeu, Andorra, b) turning up again every morning for a week, and c) managing to ski 200 yards down a shallow slope without falling over. I rather wish they had been awarding medals for the après-ski; I have a feeling I might have done better.
