Pen and Paper
I hadn't touched a fountain pen in a long time. Along came someone who liked things old-fashioned, and things changed. I can't really tell you what a big difference there is between digital and handwritten letters. Things suddenly feel real.
I don't think that life ever felt as irrelevant, arbitrary and redundant as it does today. I am convinced that Big Data, Facebook and the everywhere-but-nowhere forever-but-forgotten lifestyle of our generation of Digital Natives makes people's lives seem more meaningless than they have to any earlier generation. In a world-wide real-time network of 5 billion people, you can easily feel like a copy of a copy of a copy of many more copies who are probably out there and exactly like you. Interchangeability is overcoming individualism.
Take a step back. Disconnect and move slowly. (Is it very hypocritical to write this on a Digital Photoblog with a Facebook plugin?)
