Bass Rock from North Berwick
It was a beautiful sunny day in and around Edinburgh today, not too windy and reasonably mild. We went to North Berwick to look at campervans; we have always aspired to one and now is the time to do something about it. Surprisingly, the short wheelbase VW looks ideal for two. We then went for a walk, to the east of the town, on the beaches round the headland towards Canty Bay. The geology is fascinating, lots of volcanic features including Bass Rock. This is the wave cut platform with great ripples, boulders and bedrock and a couple of guys on the skyline to add interest. We finished our day with coffee and cake at the Scottish Seabird Centre; excellent value.
