I Am Not Lost

Grafting

I AM ACTUALLY SCREAMING AT HOW AWESOME THIS PICTURE LOOKS.

I took it really really quickly in the greenhouses before class. I've always loved greenhouses, and this one corridor that links up the maybe thirty smaller rooms is no exception. It's so creepy and industrial and clean looking and I'm so in love. Gosh.

I was going to back-blip last night's incidents, but I suppose they actually occurred early this morning. I just fell asleep when the fire alarm went off. Fire alarm is a bad word. It's actually more like... the scream of devil spawn. Or something like that. Half awake, I just grabbed my blanket to wrap around my legs, a bathrobe, and my coat, figuring we'd only be out for ten minutes or so.

Hahah. No. There was an actual fire in someone's room. They don't know how it started, and luckily everyone and their possessions are okay, aside from some smoke damage.

After standing outside for maybe fifteen minutes, they moved us into the lounge of another dorm... And then I bothered Rachel and Brittany into letting me stay with them for the night. It was maybe 2:30 at this point. Let's not forget that I had a physics quiz at 8:40.

Since I woke up too early, I decided to take the earlier quiz at 8 after stumbling into some clothes and out of my room. I have no doubt that I failed it, BUT I was able to see the eleventh floor of Bradfield!!! Which was really cool!!! You can see all of Cayuga Lake and the surrounding mountains, it's great--possibly even better than the roof of Plant Science. It's my new designated study spot.

Slept in my favorite corner on my favorite bean bag chair in Mann until calc, then horticulture, where we grafted hibiscuses. In theory, I will have a hibiscus that blooms two different colors (in two years). As a consolation prize for having to leave our grafted plants in the greenhouse, we got hyacinths that are about to bloom. Don't ask me how many plants I have in my room right now.

I finally did laundry and I'm spending the night finishing up my owl hat and catching up on sleep.
