Flower Power

Every year about this time I'm excited for what I think is the first sign of spring...

...flowering of this onion plant from my mother that I've had for several years.

Every fall I bring it in and put it right next to the patio door. I clearly do not have a green thumb as by Google surprise I have come to learn that due to temperature changes the flowering onion is deceived into believing it has completed two growth cycles or years of growth in its biennial life cycle so it finalizes the cycle by blooming.

So... I'm going to disregard this and tell you that spring is right around the corner.
