Places change

I know that this space is really different to how it used to be.
I can't remember what it was like before though....

I have been walking past here for decades - a couple of years ago they knocked down what was there, and built new flats. Stylish new area with fountains and sculptures, and a shop. It's really difficult to picture what it was like before. I think an officey type building, then an old red brick building that I didn't think should have been demolished.
But - this now looks 'right' - just as 'right' as it looked previously.

I'm sure that there's a saying that covers that, but cant' quite place it.
