Azalea Bloom
Our guests arrived bearing gifts yesterday and, not least, was an azalea basket. It has dozens of tiny pink blooms and I'm determined not to let it dry out - a death knell for this plant. Talking of death(!) I have read that this beautiful plant is highly toxic in both its leaves and nectar. Azaleas, and their near relations rhododendrons, were once so infamous for their toxicity that to receive a bouquet of their flowers in a black vase was a well-known death threat. I know our friends had no such intention - a basket container does not count!
I have given this a vignette of pale green in Picasa to bring attention to the single bloom.
