In Training

Day 2 of the Alternate Olympics - circulated here first by your intrepid blip reporter as it happens! In conjunction with Debbi the instigator of all this!

Snapped at the other side of the arena members of TS - Team Swan - in training. Working out here we have Sydney Swan with his coach being given that extra encouragement before his hopeful flight into the history books. No pressure there then!!

However there was a rather nasty scare when Serena the strongest contender for a women's gold medal was seen in the early hours flaked out suffering from exhaustion!!

Crowds arrived early this morning; an air of anticipation lingering in the air over the stadium.

Wendy Woodpigeon ever present was just one of the judges keeping a beady eye on the proceedings to make sure everything was above board, in the name of fair play.

The only 'incident' which Health and Safety have a lot to answer for was Gregory Greenfinch who flew far too near the Olympic flame and came away with rather a singed tail. However seen here he looks none the worse for the encounter, although a trifle put out!!


Secret team talks and strategies were being finalised and the whole stadium was buzzing with anticipation with the athletes making their final preparations. Sydney looking remarkably like a winner here in my view!
